It gives me great pleasure to recommend Mr. Bill Chor Piu CHAN who is running for Ward 22 Councillor of the City of Toronto this year.
Mr. Chan migrated to Canada from Hong Kong in October 1992. He received his Grade 12 Diploma from St. Michael High School in August 1998 and the Basic Constable Course Diploma from Ontario Police College in January 2001. He had served in the Toronto Police Force for nearly 15 years from December 2000 to September 2015 till retirement. During the period of 2003 to 2014, he made remarkable contribution as Chinese Community Liaison Officer of Toronto Police Service. He played host and founder of the Chinese Cops for Cancer Event as well as Cops and Community Charity Events. His dedication and devotion to public service blended with his selfless and courageous personality has made him a popular figure in the Chinese Community in Toronto. His service to the public has won him the Crime Stoppers Presidential Award in July 2005, the Chief Excellence Award by Toronto Police Service in September 2006 and Commendation from Toronto Police Service Board in May 2009.
While the challenges we face are great and our need to innovate has never been greater, I look forward to seeing Mr. Chan as a potential and capable candidate Councillor who can work closely and whole heartedly with the City of Toronto Ward 22 community in order to build on a wonderful foundation which will create a more relevant, happy, loving and enriching home environment for everyone.
